CITIZENSHIP INFORMATION

Responsibilities include:
Reporting to the Inspection Manager, or another Supervisor, the position is responsible for general administrative support to CFIA staff and direct in person service to the General Public, and may include, without limitation, all or a combination of the following:

- Provides administrative support to a manager, supervisor, and/or team, including arranging meetings, making travel arrangements, drafting correspondence and maintaining records.
- Provides general information related to the work unit to various stakeholders, including but not limited to other managers and supervisors, staff in the field, other government departments, industry and the general public.
- Prepares and processes documents and forms required for the work unit, which may include staffing requests, travel claims, establishment registrations, and/or import licences.
- Performs and coordinates administrative activities, such as security, mail control, document filing and storage, utilization of a variety of automated systems and software packages, travel arrangements, telecommunication controls.
- Provides client service to internal and external stakeholders, which may include greeting and directing both in-person visitors and telephone inquiries.
- English Essential
- This position requires presence at the office 5 days/week.

EEd1. Successful completion of two years of secondary school or CFIA-accepted alternatives.

Experience

EE1: Experience in providing administrative support services*.

*Administrative support services is defined as, but not limited to: managing agendas, scheduling and organizing meetings/teleconferences, preparing and collating meeting file folders and background materials, procuring office equipment and supplies, maintaining a filing system, data entry, booking travel arrangements, minutes taking, and other related duties.

EE2: Experience in providing information to and assisting internal or external clients.
