**Who we are looking for**

The position will provide accounting support to all entities in Canada, including State Street Trust Company Canada (“SSTCC”) and State Street Fund Services Toronto Inc. (“SSFS”), State Street Global Markets Canada Inc. (“SSGM”) and State Street Bank and Trust Company - Canada Branch (“Canada Branch”) and State Street Global Advisors, Ltd. (SsgA”) business units and oversight groups.

Reporting to the CFO and serving as an integral member of the senior management team, the Vice President of Finance, will be responsible for the development of the organization’s strategic goals. In addition to the strategic components, the VP will be charged with developing and implementing more sophisticated policies and procedures as it relates to functions both in house and with external partners.

**What you will be responsible for**

As Finance Manager you will
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Access and Word)
- Advanced accounting and finance terminology
- Experience with regulatory and reporting requirements
- Strong understanding State Street’s business and financial systems
- Working knowledge of the regulatory requirements as set out by OSFI, IIROC and provincial securities commissions.
- Autonomy to delegate tasks and projects to direct report while managing workflow and resource allocations.
- Make effective decisions to hire, discipline, control work, determine promotions, and terminate employment. Resolve employee complaints.
- Excellent analytical skills to provide the management team with value added and actionable insights and analysis to drive their understanding of the financial impact of business decisions.
- Initiates and oversees special projects, including existing cost analysis.
- Performs post-mortem analysis to refine the costing model; identifies resources needed and conducts the required research.
- Participates in the development of the three-year financial plan and profitability strategy.
- Participates in the development of overall objectives and long-term pricing and new business strategy of the organization.
- Identify risks and opportunities to manage monthly forecast cycle for all entities in Canada.
- Investigate and answer questions regarding budge/forecast from Corporate and business units
- Strategic planning, complex problem resolution and general management expertise.

**Education & Preferred Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, Economics, or related field. CPA or MBA is preferred.
- 10 to 12 years of experience at a large financial institution and/or Big 4 Public Accounting Firm, with at least 5+ years of experience as a people manager. Able to multitask people and projects to drive progress and professional development.
- Project management skills are useful.
