**Salary**: $2,626.89 to $ 3,448.73 bi-weekly. ($68,562 - $90,012 /year)

The Ministry of Indigenous Relations works with Indigenous communities, the federal government, industry and other stakeholders to support strong, vibrant Indigenous communities and people who fully participate in a prosperous, competitive and diverse Alberta.

The ministry is also responsible for:

- Promoting social and economic opportunities for Indigenous Peoples
- Co-leading Indigenous training for all Alberta public servants
- Working with other ministries to develop opportunities for Indigenous Peoples to influence land and resource management decisions.

The Strategic Engagement and Policy Innovation (SEPI) branch is part of the Consultation, Land and Policy (CLP) division in Indigenous Relations. SEPI provides a strong foundation of policy development, strategic engagement, consultation capacity development, expert advice and relationship-building through education, training, and capacity funding.

SEPI staff work with staff throughout the Ministry and the rest of the Government of Alberta to ensure that Indigenous-related policies are informed by Indigenous input and that engagement and consultation best practices are used, to meet the Ministry’s mandate to advance reconciliation.

**Community Engagement and Relationship Building**:

- Communicate regularly with Indigenous communities to clarify consultation areas, project details, and timelines.
- Facilitate and lead meetings with Indigenous communities, ensuring clear and understandable communication of complex legal, policy, and procedural information.
- Research historical engagement contexts and identify any ongoing or past conflicts to inform engagement strategies.
- Develop and implement engagement strategies based on cross-ministry committee input to ensure meetings are conducted respectfully and productively.

**Information Management**:

- Manage the information repository, ensuring all relevant documents and data are accurately filed and maintained.
- Regularly review and enhance repository practices based on feedback from legal advisors and the GoA information management policies.
- Create detailed summaries of community meetings and coordinate with legal and other ministry stakeholders for comprehensive document review before community dissemination.
- Record minutes and action items during internal meetings to ensure accountability and follow-through.

**Program Management**:

- Actively participate and lead in cross-ministry committee meetings to discuss and resolve issues related to consultation areas, engagement strategies, and information management.
- Research and analyze Traditional Land Use data to support the project’s requirements.
- Utilize GIS tools to manage and interpret TLU data, coordinating with GIS specialists for data analysis and aggregation.
- Prepare briefing notes and presentations for division leadership on critical updates and potential impacts related to consultation revisions or significant issues.

**Qualifications**:
4 years university degree in a related field such as Public Administration, Arts, Indigenous Studies plus a minimum of two years progressively responsible related experience
