**Project Control Officer**

**Role**:
Oversight and reporting role to achieve the proper financial management of the company projects to achieve corporate goals of profitability and client satisfaction.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Monitor, review, analyze and report on company project performance in terms of project budget, earned value and authorized project upset limits on a monthly basis
- Work closely with project managers to review project budget, work is within approved project scope, Estimate-To-Complete (ETC’s), monthly forecasts, work-in-progress (WIP) and Account Receivable outstanding accounts
- Work with project managers to facilitate and/or implement action as necessary regarding communications with the clients, scope change requests, purchase order amendments, contract limit amendments
- Oversee project costing to ensure compliance with Time-Task Matrix and fee tracking forms in accordance with the approved Proposal/awarded assignment and client Request-For Proposal (RFP), including Sub-Consultant proposals/agreements
- Perform variance analysis and different trend analysis such as Billing, Revenue, Total Spent, Backlog and Forecasts
- Oversee project files to ensure proper documentation is obtained from the client regarding comprising approved scope change requests/change orders, purchase order amendments, contract limit amendments
- Prepare Work-In-Progress (WIP) Reporting working with Project Manager
- Prepare Back-Log forecast reporting working with the Project Managers
- Provide support for accounting staff with monthly project billings, status and reporting
- Investigate and resolve client queries on an as-required basis
- Attend monthly project budget meetings with senior management, accounting staff and department managers
- Assist with other corporate activities as assigned

**Qualifications and Experience**
- 5+ years of experience, in a professional time billing environment and project costing and controls role
- Diploma or degree in accounting or finance
- Must be able to work a minimum of 3 days, in office, per week
- Ability to oversee and report on financial performance of multiple projects of varying complexity in a team environment, as well as thorough understanding of project management concepts and KPIs
- Advanced MS Excel skills required to manage, track and report the project budget
- Proficient in MS Office Skills
- PMP certification an asset
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills to identify and foresee project budget issues, and assist with/develop solutions to resolve issues, Projects-In-Trouble (PIT’s)
- Collaborative team player
- Works closely with project manager, accounting staff and senior management
