**Extended Learning Program Manager**:
**Primary Purpose**: This position leads extended learning services and provides strategic support to advance the implementation and ongoing refinement of micro-credential offerings at University of Saskatchewan (USask) through proactive identification of opportunities, project management, evaluation, and coordination of administration and support.

**Nature of Work**: Reporting to the Senior Director, Teaching and Learning Enhancement, with a dotted reporting line to the Senior Director, Strategic Operations and Continuing Education, this position’s main role is to lead a new cost-recovery team supporting extended learning and coordinate the development of micro-credentials, in alignment with our Micro-credential Guidelines, at USask so as to achieve our aims of; (1) serving the increasing need for life-long learning, (2) supporting upskilling and reskilling in response to labour market disruption and changing societal needs, (3) strengthening connections with industry, professions and community, and (4) generating income for the institution.

The Extended Learning Program Manager will lead a team supporting extended learning opportunities at USask and manage the overall coordination of micro-credential offerings at the institution. They will work in partnership with academic and administrative leaders to identify and pursue opportunities, build and facilitate relationships with industry partners, guide and project manage specific micro-credential development and extended learning opportunities, coordinate support for development, shepherd offerings through approvals, lead a new team of professional and administrative support staff, oversee marketing, communications, registration, lead ensure stellar service and a positive learner experience, coordinate evaluation of each micro-credential offering, and provide annual reporting to the Provost’s office, colleges and schools. Successful micro-credential and extended learning continuing education programming will raise the profile of the University of Saskatchewan in program innovation, competency development, and connection and service to community.

The role holder will be required to work with learners, faculty, staff, and administrators across several academic and administrative units, and thus the ability to liaise effectively in a complex environment is critical. Professionalism, tact, and attention to detail are required. Most work will take place during regular office hours, but some evening and weekend work may be required.

**Accountabilities**:
**Identify opportunities and strategically grow extended learning offerings**
- Develop a data-driven and evidence-based growth strategy for micro-credentials at USask, that incorporates:

- Identification of grant/funding opportunities to develop micro-credentials
- The establishment of regular labour market skills-gap analysis processes
- Data from existing consultant reports
- Build and maintain, with USask academic and administrative units, a network of industry, professional and community partners to spark, inform and advance non-degree and extended learning programming with a focus on micro-credentials
- Lead, with academic and administrative units, work to identify provincial and national needs that could be met by micro-credential and continuing education offerings
- Establish connections with industry organizations and representatives, enabling pipelines of communication to find new extended learning opportunities and feedback on existing offerings

**Coordinate development, approval and launch of micro-credential offerings**
- Support academic units in initiating new micro-credential projects, including: confirming labour market demand, identification of employer/community partners where needed, budget planning, and initial project planning
- Manage the lifecycle of developing individual micro-credentials: coordinating support for development (including marketing, communications, registration, and awarding of credentials), shepherding through approval processes, and managing the launch of each offering.
- Oversee development and maintenance of externally facing resources related to USask’s micro-credential offering (social media, web, etc.)
- In coordination with University Relations and colleges/schools, oversee development and launch of external marketing campaigns related to both individual micro-credentials and the micro-credential program as a whole
- Ensure outstanding learner experience throughout the learner lifecycle
- Coordinate the evaluation and debrief of each offering and annual reporting to the Provost’s office and governance committees

**Oversee management of extended learning services**
- Support the development of, and then act as a key resource, for the new advisory committees, liaising between the committee and faculty members seeking to develop extended learning opportunities
