Calgary, Canada Learning Potential Foundation Full time

Learning Potential Foundation is a private ECS looking for Speech-Language Pathologists who will work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to plan and carry out programs, enable and support learning for the child and family members in our ECS programs. The children we work with are between 2-5 years of age and we utilize AB Ed funding to support children within our EAL, Mild/Mod, Mod, and PUF funded programs. The children we support range between Mild/Moderate, Moderate, and Severe speech delays and include varying levels of needs or diagnosis.

We work as a team and in collaboration with the teacher to develop strategies, coach and support team members and parents in daily classroom plans. Collaborate with teachers to develop, implement, and evaluate Individual Program Plan (IPP) goals.

Learning Potential Foundation is an ECS provider with a head office in Airdrie, AB.

** We are looking for an SLP for sites in Airdrie and Calgary starting January 2025.**

** Flexible schedules can be discussed (for example, if you only want to work mornings or if you just want 3 full days, we can discuss your availability).**

** Mentorship is available and provided within Learning Potential's seasoned SLPs.**

**Qualifications**
- A Degree/Masters (or equivalent) in Speech-Language Pathology and proof of registration with ACSLPA are required.
- field experience in rehabilitation including evaluation, treatment, case management, and program development is an asset but new SLP grads are welcome
- Provide clearance from a criminal record check (including vulnerable sector search); must be current within the past 6 months
- Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills with an ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff and community partners
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
- Analytical ability to evaluate clients with various diagnoses and establish an appropriate intervention plan
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality with an ability to deal with sensitive client issues
- Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritizing skills

**Responsibilities and Activities**
- Identify speech and communication difficulty or disorder
- Assess the cause and nature of the delay/need
- Plan and implement the speech and language programming in alignment with the needs of the individual
- Conduct screenings and assessments using formal and informal speech and language measures
- Implement and document outcome measures for services and participate in team meetings related to the client
- Complete treatment summary reports and assessments as required and ensure adequate documentation
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team across preschool and daycare environments
- Assess and record client activities and progress for client evaluations
- Establish workload priorities in collaboration with others in order to ensure optimal service delivery
- Provide training and education to family/caregivers and other professionals

*Please note that we are hiring for the current school year that from January to June 2025. Caseload hand-over will take place in January and then you will continue until June 2025. If interested, there is great possibility for additional/full time hours in the following school year.
