Northern Gateway Public Schools is inviting applications for an accomplished, visionary leader interested in joining Northern Gateway Public Schools in the following position: Principal at Onoway Jr/Sr High School effective the 2024 - 2025 school year Reporting directly to the Superintendent of Schools, principals are members of a team of skilled, committed, talented and progressive educators in an environment of site-based decision making.The Principalship to be filled, Onoway Elementary School, Grades 8 - 12, is located in the town of Onoway. This school has a student population of 530. Current staffing at the school includes 1 Assistant Principal, 26 teaching positions and 13 support staff positions.The successful candidate will: have a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate work collegially and collaboratively with the Principal colleagues throughout the school jurisdictionwork with Central Administration, the school staff, students and the school council to support community engagement that will foster a collaborative school vision via the School Advancement Plan and school culture support and cultivate teachers' application of the domains of the NGPS Quality Learning Environment (QLE)based on Inclusive Education practices, demonstrate a commitment to student achievement through a focus on curriculum-instruction-assessment and the Teaching Quality Standard demonstrate a commitment to student achievement through a focus on literacy and numeracy programming, support and interventionbe knowledgeable about First Nations, Metis and Inuit cultures, and preferably have worked with First Nations and Metis students, elders and education partners demonstrate a commitment to student achievement and success through a focus on the Collaborative Team Meeting (CTM) processhave successful junior/senior high school teaching experience and school-based leadership experience work with school staff team to enhance staff wellness, and team development and spirit have experience with or extensive knowledge of off-campus programming, including Work Experience and Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) demonstrate outstanding communication and interpersonal skills andhave a related Master Degree or enrolled in, with a specified completion dateApplicants will be guided in their administrative role by the nine Competencies identified in the Alberta Education Leadership Quality Standard.
