The Superintendent is responsible for the overall job site activities within the established design, scope, budget, and scheduling guidelines. This includes planning and scheduling, organizing, and directing activities on the job site.

Working in tandem with multiple jobsite Foreman and Project Management Staff (Project Manager/Asst. Project Manager, Estimator and Project Coordinators) to coordinate and schedule the daily/weekly/monthly activities of Workers, Tradespeople, and Subcontractors to meet scheduling and project specific requirements.

Assist the Project Manager / Estimator with the estimating process, as required. Including, but not limited to, site visits building budgets for labour and equipment, etc..

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Including, but not limited to, the following:

- Scheduling
- Compliance/Administration
- QA/QC
- Jobsite Operations

**SCHEDULING**
- Oversee coordination of multiple job sites
- Participate in scheduling meetings
- Present progress reports of all WIPs
- Liaise with Project Coordinator and Project Managers to create accurate and updated schedules
- Follow project timelines to ensure deadlines are met
- Communicate with Project Manager and participate in site inspections with inspection authorities as required (i.e. MOL, Utilities, etc.)
- Timely and efficient communication with Project Manager regarding:

- Potential scope changes
- Schedule variances/potential setbacks
- Progress reports

**COMPLIANCE / ADMINISTRATION**
- Effective documented communication of job specific requirements daily (per ECSI Standard Operating Procedures)
- Scope of Work
- Tool/equipment requirements
- Required materials
- Daily site-specific schedule
- Audit site records, including but not limited to:

- Daily worksheets
- Timesheets
- Site safety inspection compliance
- Liaise with inspection authorities as required (i.e. Utilities Disconnect Inspections, Occupancy Permit, etc.)
- Maintain daily reports including, but not limited to; progress reports, non-compliance reports, deficiency reports and submit as required

**QUALITY ASSURANCE/QUALITY CONTROL**
- Ensure quality of workmanship/scope completion in compliance with ECSI Standards and Industry Standards
- Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding work being performed by subcontractors
- Ensure complete scope completion as per contract
- Identify deficiencies
- Liaise with Project Manager to address customer concerns and any/all RFIs

**JOBSITE OPERATIONS**:

- Schedule construction operations for multiple job sites
- Supervise staff and provide constructive feedback
- Monitor and report on project progress
- Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needs
- Order the appropriate equipment for multiple job sites
- Resolve on-site issues and emergencies

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**
- Indoor and outdoor work
- Regular standing, walking, climbing stairs
- Assistance with trade work as required
- Ability to lift 35 lbs and operate heavy equipment

**EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE**:

- 5+ years in Trades
- 2+ years in Construction Superintendent role or equivalent
- Structural demolition experience an asset, but not required

**SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE**:

- Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure and time constraints
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Detail orientated with excellent organizational skills
- Respect and appreciation for process and process improvement
- Effective time management and logical decision-making ability
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Valid class “G” Driver’s License;
- Blueprint Reading

**TRAINING**:
Mandatory training required prior to on-boarding;
- Basics of Supervising;
- MOL Supervisor Health and Safety Training in 5 Steps
- WHMIS 2015 Certificate;
- Working at Heights Certificate;
- AODA;
- First Aid, CPR & AED
