We are currently looking for Program Coordinator - Youth Services Initiative to join our team of committed professionals. This full-time position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s Durham location in Sudbury.
Under the leadership of the Vice President of Health and Wellness - Youth Services Initiative recruits, trains and mentors youth from the community to assist them in being successful to evaluate, select, lead and deliver service initiatives in their own communities. The Program Coordinator - Youth Services Initiative will assist the participants in developing a service project that is meaningful to both themselves and the local community by using an experiential learning model.

**START DATE**: January 9th, 2023

**LOCATION**: Sudbury

**RATE OF PAY**: $44,000 per year

**HOURS**: 40 per week

Major Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, development and delivery of the project in accordance with YMCA standards, YMCA Child Protection policies, and YMCA Healthy Adolescent Development principles
- Build trusting relationships with local partners
- Communicate with participants, co-workers and other professionals on a regular basis
- Engage new participants through the building of strong local networks; initiating and attending meetings, planning sessions, training and events
- Work with participants and community members to identify and develop a community service initiative
- Maintain files to the standards set out by the program funders and the YMCA
- Communicate with YMCA colleagues, locally and nationally, to build upon program quality, growth and impact
- Compile and report evaluation feedback

**Qualifications**:

- College diploma in Child & Youth Worker, Community Development, Project Management, Social Sciences or related field
- Valid G class driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a lead role
- Experience with cultural groups, high needs and marginalized populations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (some positions require French communication skills)
- Community Development and Public Speaking Skills
- Crisis management skills
- Advanced computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Solid knowledge of community resources
- Ability to research and develop workshops and community presentations
- Superior project management/presentation/facilitation skills
- Self-motivated and a strong team player
- Current and satisfactory Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
