**Location**: Primary - Glen Abbey and Iroquois Ridge Branches. You will be required to travel to all sites and external events.
**Hours**:35 hours including days, evenings, and weekends.

The Creation Specialist supports Oakville Public Library's mission to bring together people, information and ideas to enrich lives and build healthy communities. Using OPL's organizational values of equitable access, curiosity, belonging, lifelong learning, intellectual freedom, and exceptional service, Creation Specialists develop programming and provide support to inspire Oakville through new and emerging technologies.

**What you'll do**
**As a Creation Specialist you will**:

- Develop, plan, host, and implement inclusive and specialized programs focused on creative technology and arts, in-person and virtually that meet the needs and interests of the Oakville community.
- Determine programming objectives and use outcome-based evaluations to measure the impact of Creation Zone programs and services within the community.
- Facilitate individual and small-group training, learning and support with all Creation Zone equipment. Tailoring approach to meet individual customer needs and skill-levels.
- Provide complex technical support to internal and external customer needs. Creatively problem-solve and connect customers with resources and tools to resolve customer service problems or complaints.
- Coach, train and support a system-wide team to utilize creative technologies within programming and branch spaces.
- Create and maintain program and training-related documentation, including processes, procedures, training resources, videos and presentations.
- Monitor, assess and evaluate professional and community trends relating to creative technologies. Identify and recommend equipment to improve programs, internal workflows and expand services and resources.
- Collect and analyze relevant statistical data and metrics. Prepare written reports and presentations based on recommendations and findings.
- Research, establish, maintain and evaluate partnerships within the community that are beneficial to both the Library and residents. Develop partner programming that enhances OPL's ability to meet community needs.
- Effectively communicate with branch and cross-functional teams to create awareness of programs, services and objectives. Promote library programs and services through Outreach sessions.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Creation Zone machinery. Source and purchase consumables, supplies and replacement parts as needed.
- Develop, lead and coordinate system-wide committees and participate in external committees and teams as required.
- Engage in on-going professional development and network with other library systems and community organizations.
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, other relevant health and safety legislation, and the OPL’s Health & Safety Program.
- Perform other duties as assigned

**The Creation Specialist will require the following**:

- Related post-secondary degree or diploma in education, arts, or computer science or will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum two (2) years related experience in education and technology
- Experience developing and leading programs or training related to the use of technology
- Experience using Windows and iOS operating systems
- Experience in photo (specifically Adobe suite), video or sound editing
- Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop or equivalent editors. Knowledge of video, audio and 3D design software will be considered an asset.
