**Duties**:

- Here are a few examples (not an exhaustive list) of the scientific and technical fields in which the Bureau provides translation services: chemistry, toxicology, medicine, agriculture, aeronautics, electricity, electronics and telecommunications.

Information about Employment Equity

Translation Bureau
Founded in 1934, the Translation Bureau is a special operating agency of Public Services and Procurement Canada. It supports the Government of Canada in its efforts to communicate with and serve Canadians in both official languages. It also plays a leadership role in standardizing the vocabulary used in the various spheres of federal government and parliamentary activity.

The Translation Bureau aims to be a centre of excellence in language services. The foundation of its modernized vision rests on several initiatives, including strengthening employee well-being; improving service quality; reaching out to professional associations, universities and clients; planning and managing resources effectively; and conducting research and development in machine translation and artificial intelligence.

A supplement of 4% may be granted to multilingual translators who regularly work in at least three languages. Where applicable, this supplement will be added to the translators’ compensation.

EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in translation from a recognized post-secondary institution or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

- Experience in translating from Russian to English and French to English.
