**A day in the life**:
- Perform professional work related to a variety of planning assignments
- Undertake a variety of tasks related to stakeholder and public engagement projects
- Undertake research and analysis of various scenarios and formal presentation of analysis
- Provide professional planning consulting services to the land development industry, including client advice and regulatory approvals
- Planning policy and zoning interpretation/administration for municipal and land development clients
- Research and develop policies for municipal development plans, secondary plans, and zoning by-laws
- Act as a liaison between clients and approving authorities
- Ability to effectively communicate with provincial government agencies, municipalities, private developers, special interest groups, organizations and institutions
- Conduct research and prepare various technical background to support various long-range planning projects
- Skills to speak to a diverse range of audiences from the general public to various community/business groups
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and other business development activities; and
- Other duties as assigned.
**What you'll bring to WSP...**
- A degree in Community Planning, Urban Planning, and / or related field
- A full membership (RPP), or eligibility, of the Manitoba Professional Planners Institute
- Minimum 2 years of progressively responsible urban planning experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Aptitude and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Extensive analytical, creative, decision-making, and strategic skills and a proven ability to reach sound decisions and to resolve complex challenges
- Experience in public engagement experience and/or IAP2 training would be considered an asset
- Experience in land development planning would be considered an asset; and
- Excellent time-management skills.
