The Operations Manager is responsible to lead multiple departments, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable operations in accordance with company processes and our service level agreements. The Operations Manager is a key member of our management team and reports to the General Manager.

Responsibilities include:
- Managing day to day operations of operational departments, which may include: mechanical shop, detail shop, lot operations, maintenance, and security/stock in;-
- Providing leadership and direction to employees in the operations departments, including hiring, training, coaching, assigning tasks, prioritizing workload, and monitoring work output for quality control and operational efficiency;-
- Managing the financial and operational performance of operational departments, including identifying opportunities, and implementing process improvements and corporate initiatives;-
- Ensure smooth and trouble-free operations on auction day including ensuring vehicles are properly staged, troubleshooting problems including technical support needs;-
- Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and conflict resolution, identifying and resolving concerns or errors, and supporting the arbitration process;-
- Coordinating maintenance requests and external contractors in accordance with company procurement processes, which may include assisting with contract negotiations and monitoring work;-
- Ensuring a safe environment for employees and customers, which includes consistently demonstrating safe work behaviour, conducting department inspections and safety toolbox meetings, participating on the safety committee, and prompt resolution of any safety concerns;-
- Other management functions including on-time and accurate reporting of departmental performance and KPIs, input into budget and departmental goals, ensuring adherence to company policies, and ensuring the operations departments are able to support other KAR Global business units as needed; and-
- Other duties as assigned.- Education and Experience required:_- Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset;-
- 3-5 years’ operations and management experience;-
- Experience in the auction or automotive industry preferred;-
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills;-
- Success in mentoring and coaching employees;-
- Well versed in occupational health and safety requirements;-
- Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills with the ability to juggle demands and meet deadlines;-
- Proficient and adaptable to changing technology
