**Job Summary**

Southlake’s Regional Cardiac Health Department is the fourth largest comprehensive heart program in Ontario. The Regional Cardiac Health Department provides advanced cardiac care, close to home to thousands of patients from York Region to Muskoka. Southlake is the regional hub for emergent heart attack care. This means that no matter which hospital is closest to you in the region, if you’re having a heart attack, you’ll be brought to Southlake for emergent treatment. Southlake’s Cardiologists are often the first to perform leading edge procedures in Ontario, Canada and even the world. Leaders in their fields, our physicians actively participate in ground-breaking research which is recognized and published internationally. The Regional Cardiac Health Department also offers a cardiovascular prevention and rehabilitation program which teaches diet management, exercise and heart healthy habits to assist individuals who are recovering from or are at high-risk for cardiovascular diseases, procedures, or strokes. Cardiology unit has 30 telemetry beds and 4 Level 2 PCI beds for patients who require or have had an interventional procedure.
Job Summary:
The Cardiology Manager will have a proven track record of strong leadership. This role provides leadership and operational oversight to ensure the delivery of high quality, patient-centered Cardiac care. The role involves managing day to day operations, supporting multidisciplinary teams and driving quality care in alignment with Southlake’s and the Regional Cardiac Program’s goals. The Manager fosters a positive supportive work environment.

**Qualifications**
- RN Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario or Degree in a Health-related discipline.
- Master’s degree in a health-related discipline or working towards Master’s degree preferred
- Three (3) years’ experience in leadership or management roles.

- Proven ability with interpersonal communication, coaching and team building skills that facilitate positive interactions among all members of the health care team

**Primary Responsibilities**
- In collaboration with the Director, Cardiac Health and the division head for Cardiology, responsible for operational functions on Cardiology, to accomplish annual goals and objectives consistent with the vision of Southlake Regional Health Centre.
- Collaborates with managers/staff to develop and implement improvement plans
- Responsible for all aspects of employee engagement (recruitment, performance management and retention).
- Co-chair of the clinical service team monthly meeting
- Guide and approve policies in collaboration with the Nurse Educator
- Accountable for unit budget development and management, performance metrics and monitoring.
- Optimize patient flow on Cardiology to ensure access to beds for Emergency Department and regional patients.
