**LAB/ECG TECHNICIAN (full-time)**

(Barrie & Newmarket Clinics)

**Job Requirements**
- Graduation from a recognized approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent
- Phlebotomy experience
- Able to perform and recognize abnormal ECG tracings
- Able to hook up holter monitors
- Excellent communication skills
- ACLS certification required
- Able to meet the physical demands of the job
- Must be willing to travel to other office sites/locations (Barrie/Newmarket)
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
- Ability to maintain the strictest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written, telephone)
- Demonstration of the ability to work as an integral member of a health care team

**Job Specific Competencies**

**Cardiac Technologist Expertise**:
**Cardiac testing performance**:

- 12 lead ECG's hook ups and preliminary interpretation
- Holter monitor hook ups
- ABP monitor hook ups
- Training and review provided by PACE staff - need to meet PACE standards
- Accurate report writing for physician interpretation
- Provide preliminary diagnostic evaluation and alert physician of abnormal test that may necessitate immediate patient care

**Technical Expertise**:

- Ability to efficiently use and troubleshoot diverse equipment necessary for job performance
- Ensure that equipment is well kept and in good working order
- Entry and reporting with data management software
- Reviewing and confirming accuracy of preliminary reports
- Computer literacy

**Professionalism**:

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written, telephone)
- Demonstration of the ability to work as an integral member of a health care team
- Perform all duties with Patient Centred focus, including: protecting patient privacy and ensuring patient safety
- Works in conjunction with other team members to prioritize, co-ordinate and complete area workload.
- Ability and confidence to work independently and act as a resource on behalf of the department.
- Demonstrates ability to work effectively in a busy clinical environment
- Prioritize and accommodate urgent requests
- Maintain professionalism and diplomacy
- Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public
- Protects patient and staff confidentiality and privacy
- Self-directed and able to work effectively with mínimal supervision
- Work according to our company procedures and policies
- Perform other cross-functional responsibilities as requested

**Salary**: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Newmarket, ON L3X 0H5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- ECG /Lab Tech: 1 year (preferred)
