**Phoenix Restorations **is looking for an experienced **Construction Department Manager**:
Working out of our Coquitlam location, you will be responsible for Managing the overall operations of the Construction Department. You will lead and mentor an enthusiastic team of Construction Technicians delivering impeccable customer service to our Clients. Liaising with dedicated Project Management Teams you will ensure the highest level of quality workmanship is achieved at all times. Successfully meeting or exceeding Client KPI’s is an essential element of this role.
It is anticipated that approximately 50% of your time will be spent in the field with staffs; overseeing their training, assessing their performance and ensuring Technicians have the proper tools, equipment and skills to efficiently and effectively perform their duties. Your goal will be to develop and foster professional relationships with your staffs leading them to achieve their highest level of success.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Ensure all work is performed safely according to WorkSafe BC regulations
- Assess job requests to ensure the most efficient and effective processes are implemented, including equipment and manpower utilization
- Liaise with Project Management Teams to develop workflow strategies achieving optimum cycle times
- Communicate job schedules to all stakeholders
- Schedule work with Clients and dispatch Technicians
- Create and maintain monthly on call schedules
- Collection and approval of daily time sheets
- Daily review and uploading of documents
- Ensure daily updates/photos are provided on all jobs attended and communicate any issues or concerns
- Develop and maintain in-house training programs
- Provide scheduled training sessions for all Department staffs
- Oversee preventative maintenance and repairs of all Department service vehicles and equipment
- Outsource temporary labor and sub-trades to augment regular work crews as required
- Monitor the efficient use of available equipment
- Hire and performance manage Department staffs
- Motivate staffs through team building and employee engagement
- Organize and lead monthly staff meetings
- Identify and pursue operational improvement initiatives
**Qualifications**:
- Education and experience_
- Minimum of 5 years’ Construction experience in a Management or Supervisory role
- BCIT Bachelor of Technology in Construction Management an asset
- ITA Red Seal Certification an asset
- Valid BC Driver’s License with a clean abstract
- Clean Criminal Record
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities_
- Knowledge of multi-unit, commercial and large loss construction assemblies
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent in English, verbally and in writing
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to lead and mentor staffs
- Working Conditions_
- This role works primarily out of Phoenix’s Head Office in Coquitlam
- 50% of your time will be on jobsites throughout the Lower Mainland and 50% in the office
- Company provided PPE must be worn on jobsites as required
- Employee provided CSA safety footwear must be worn on all jobsites
- Typical work hours are 7:00 - 4:00 with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break
- Some overtime may be required during peak business periods
