**Position Overview**

This position is suited to a true HR Generalist. Working with the Vice President of Human Resources, you will be responsible for providing a broad range of HR services ranging from full cycle recruitment, employee orientation, employee relations, confidential coaching to employees and managers, interpreting legislation, compensation, and administration of company policy changes.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Recruitment & On-Boarding_
- Ensuring employee job descriptions are current
- Support the on-boarding experience for new team members in the office and working remotely
- Assist with annual employee survey and analyze results
- Monitor all job postings to ensure they stay at the top of job boards and communicate with external third
- party integrations
- Employee Relations & Performance Management_
- Answers general employment questions from employees, supervisors, and managers
- Provides Employment Verification Letters
- Collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for the openings
- Provide department managers and employees with coaching on performance and conflict resolution
- Assist with developing employee engagement programs and training and development initiatives
- Perform terminations and ensure all documentation is completed and submitted for processing
- Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise
- Collaborate with managers and supervisors on performance concerns, disciplines, investigations and documentation
- HRIS_
- Complete first level updates and upload documents
- Submit referral bonuses & vehicle allowance increases
- Create and distribute reports to stakeholders
- Ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential
- Manage recruitment and onboarding ADP platforms and be the SME for team
- Policy and Procedures_
- Research industry best practices and updates policies and procedures accordingly
- Ensure policies and procedures are following all applicable federal and provincial laws
- Provides communication, training and development to staff regarding policy interpretation
- Aid Senior HR Manager with writing and communicating new policies
- Health and Safety_
- Ensure that self and others adhere to Canstar’s health and safety practices and procedures
- Ensure good housekeeping is kept to perform work safely and efficiently
- Understand safety policies and protocols
- Ensure that self and others on site are wearing all required PPE, when required

**Who we are looking for**:
A personable and well-organized individual with a background in a diverse HR environment is a perfect match for a Canstar HR Generalist. Experience working in a fast-paced environment focused on internal customer service will have you off on the right foot for this position. Other important attributes of a future Canstar HR Generalist are:

- Strong people skills and ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders (including but not limited to senior leadership, employees and third parties)
- Excellent judgement and problem-solving skills
- Experience in disability management (non-occupation and occupational)
- Working knowledge of Provincial Employment Standards and WSBC acts
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to manage confidential information
- An empathetic personality with a strategic understanding of business
- Knowledge of the restoration or construction industry is considered beneficial
- Ability to adapt to change and be flexible to ad hoc department requirements
- Well organized
- Positive can-do demeanor

**Qualifications**
- Education and Experience_
- 4-5+ years in an HR role
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources with a related diploma or degree is required
- Experience in recruitment is considered an asset
- Experience working with ADP is considered an asset
- Working towards or holding a CPHR designation is required

**Working Conditions**
- This position may report out of the Coquitlam branch but does have the ability to work from other offices occasionally or under a hybrid model once probation is complete
