**What you’ll do**

This co-op position will be responsible for developing, manufacturing and characterizing nanoparticle formulations using NanoAssemblr® platform to support internal research projects and product development.

**Areas of Responsibility**
- Support development of novel lipid/polymer-based nanoparticle formulations using the NanoAssemblr® microfluidics-based manufacturing platform
- Manufacture lipid nanoparticle formulations for use in nucleic acid delivery and functional genomic studies
- Lead small independent projects on nanoparticle formulations including experimental design and reports
- Determine the physical, chemical and stability properties of nanoparticle formulations
- Support assessment of the functional activity of novel nanoparticle formulations.
- Perform routine validation studies to support product development and engineering projects
- Assist in the scale-up and process development of nanoparticle formulations.
- Prepares Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), reports and technical presentations
- Assists in the day-to-day management of the lab
- Performs other duties as assigned

**Who you are**
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Chemistry or Life Sciences discipline
- Previous work experience in a related laboratory environment or completion of at least one previous co-op/intern assignment
- Experience in analytical assays, strong analytical and troubleshooting capability.
- Experience with nanoparticles and lipid/polymer chemistry is an asset
- Experience of cell and molecular biology techniques such as flow cytometry, qPCR, western blotting, etc. is an asset
- Must be a resourceful, proactive, detail oriented individual
- The individual must be a team player who thrives in a dynamic environment with multiple tasks and strong deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Be able to work with minimum supervision
