**POSITION**:Proposal Development Officer (PDO)

**DEPARTMENT**: Business Development

**EMPLOYMENT TERM**:Temporary Full-time 1-year (Maternity Leave Replacement)

**LOCATION**:Hybrid (3 days Remote & 2 days 90 Burnhamthorpe Road W., Mississauga)

**REPORTING TO**:Manager, New Programs and Proposal Development

**SALARY**: $62,620

**START DATE**:June 27, 2023

**END DATE**:June 28, 2024

**SCHEDULE**:Monday to Friday 8:30 - 4:30

(Occasional evenings and weekends when/as required)

**HOURS**:35 hours per week

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Conduct research and data analysis, gathering evidentiary data from internal and external sources to support proposal development. This includes:

- Synthesizing and analyzing data to identify trends draw conclusions and make recommendations
- Organizing data, creating charts and graphs, and presenting findings.
- Using data analysis and interpretations to guide and support decision-making for program design.
- Organizing, l iaising and coordinating activities with internal teams to support cross-functional ideation for concept design in the proposal development process.
- Actively support contractual negotiation funding processes by reviewing requests, gathering data, and providing information as required.
- Support the ongoing enhancement and maintenance of the proposal development workflow system for efficient preparation of proposal documentation.
- Attend conferences, workshops, information sessions, and special events that are aligned with Achev’s mission, to develop and expand networks, gather and analyze information aimed at supporting proposal development and future program design.
- Support the development of materials including customized funding proposals/packages, agreements, briefing notes for solicitation, presentations and other sponsorship materials as required.
- Generate formal monthly reports on leads acquired, meetings arranged, opportunities assessed, proposals status, and market intelligence gained.
- Other related duties as assigned.

**SELECTION CRITERIA**:

- University Degree in management, economics, marketing, communication, public administration, or in a related field of study and/or equivalent work experience.
- A highly refined approach to research and data analysis with 2-3 years’ e xperience in data analysis or data management is advantageous.
- A demonstrated understanding of proposal development initiatives with 1 - 5 years’ experience in writing, reviewing or involvement in related activities such as: conducting research; preparing evaluation reports; or developing outreach/marketing/communications strategies is preferred.
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, including proven relationship building aptitudes with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic, integrity, business professionalism, respect for confidentiality and appropriate handling of sensitive information required.
- Demonstrated understanding of knowledge management techniques including the process of organizing, creating, using, and sharing collective knowledge within and across organization
- Exceptional organization and records management skills and the strongest attention to detail.
- Strong English language communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Fully proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat (including experience in creating/use of excel spreadsheets for budgets and cash flow forecasts).
- Ability to undertake and manage multiple projects and set priorities while working independently
- Willing to work flexible hours (when/as required) to meet challenging proposal submission deadlines.
