**Summary**

**Working at Fanshawe College**Note**: This is a 1-year full-time temporary Administrative position (37.5 hours per week).**Duties**:Under the general direction of the Manager, Industry Projects, the Specialist, Food Product Development (Research) is a member of the CRI lab research team and responsible for the development of sustainable food options depending on the needs and challenges of the sponsoring industry partner ex., growing demand for animal to plant protein substitutions, alternative sweeteners, non-alcoholic fermented products, dairy products and shelf-life studies.
- The incumbent will lead multiple research projects focusing on the latest advancements in food science, ingredients, and processes to meet the needs of industry partners, and in collaboration with CRI technicians, faculty members, and Fanshawe students.**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Commercial Culinary Development or a related field
- Minimum 5 years’ of hands-on Food Product Development experience in new product and processes development from concept through scale-up and commercialization
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements
- Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) certification, knowledge of Safe Food for Canadians Act & Passion for Food Safety
- Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and work independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
