ORGANIZATION

Camp Kirk empowers neurodiverse kids and youth to reach their potential through

recreational programs. Within a small and nurturing community, our programs

emphasize strengths so that participants can develop confidence, connection and

community. Camp Kirk supports neurodiverse kids and youth, ages 6-17. The majority of our campers have learning disabilities, autism, and/or ADHD

The Healthcare Coordinator is the on-site health care provider for the camp. They will be responsible for:

- Addressing all cases of injury and/or illness
- Administering all camper medications and treatments
- Instituting preventative healthcare measures and educating the staff on health-related issues in the camp setting
- Supporting the implementation of Camp Kirk’s Communicable Disease safety plan
- Coordinating with local healthcare professionals to ensure campers and staff receive appropriate assessment and care

Our aim is to hire an individual who is keen to be involved with all aspects of camp life. We are a small family-like camp and we hope that our Healthcare Coordinator will be an integral part of the staff.

CONTRACT DETAILS + COMPENSATION

The dates of employment run from **June 18th - August 26th, 2024**. Staff reside at camp in cabins with 3-4 other staff members. The compensation for the Healthcare Coordinator is **$7,170 + room and board**

REQUIREMENTS + EXPECTATIONS
- 19+ years old by June 2024
- Minimum required experience: By June 1st, completed third year of a nursing program, or equivalent level of education/training in a similar program
- Previous experience working with children is an asset
- Once hired, applicants must be willing to secure the following before their start date:

- Standard First Aid + CPR(C), or equivalent or higher certification
- Criminal Record Check
