**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide support, leadership and direction to a variety of internal and external bodies including: coordinators, leads, staff, and others and at all stations.
- Provide support to dedicated station leadership at each of our bases within the Maintair network.
- Provide support to health & safety committees and members.
- Report to the Executive on an as needed (daily) basis.
- Report to client carriers on an as needed (daily) basis.
- Attend all safety related airport, air carrier and partner meetings.
- Ensure company policies are being adhered to, as well as governmental and airline policies.
- Ensure company budgets and finance related targets are met.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and standards, and conduct reviews of existing health and safety policies.
- Evaluate industry standards and best practices for aviation safety management, and make recommendations to ensure continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with air carriers, their SMS programs and safety departments.
- Remain current in all air carrier policies and procedures, specifically safety requirements.
- Updating internal operations requirements, including station safety audits.
- Provide safety mentoring and coaching when required on varied airline, company, and government topics.
- Maintain and ensure a safe work environment for all staff.
- Be hands-on and work with the team ensuring safety and efficiency are priority.
- Ensure staff are following all safety directives.
- Respond to hazard, incident/accident reports in an expedited manner.
- Ensure the company SMS program is relevant and ever evolving to ensure the highest, best in class safety environment is provided to our team and customers.
- Engage and promote the company Safety Management System (SMS).
- Perform company and partner audits on operations.
- Report data resulting from Audits to managemet and team members for proactive action processes.
- Ensure ongoing process development and improvement through systems, collaboration and development of best practice.
- Engage with carriers to ensure auditing programs and systems are best practive and completed per carrier requirements.
- Collaborage with Training Team in ensuring corrective actions are processed in a timely manner.
- Report to carriers on an as needed basis ensuring compliance with all auditable needs.
- Be available to travel on short or no notice for emergency purposes.
- Liaise with all other department managers in a constructive, proactive manner to ensure the optimal operation of all teams.
- Other duties as assigned by senior management.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS**:

- Minimum College Diploma and/or University Degree with equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years previous airline operations/ground handling experience with a strong focus on Safety and Quality Standards.
- Must have valid driver’s license with clean abstract.
- Must have (or be able to obtain) Airport Restricted Area Pass (RAIC).
- Ability to speak, write and understand the English language.
- Previous experience in people and team management is highly desirable.
- Experience dealing with safety investigations, reporting and issuing CAPs.
- Extensive experience in quality, risk management and mitigation.
- Must have excellent team player competencies.
- Must be able to work with mínimal supervision, and/or in a team environment working varied hours and on call.
- Must be willing to adapt to the changing nature of aviation.
- Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must maintain a professional and experienced level of commitment to Safety.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office, Windows, Google Suite and Proprietary computer programs.
- Must be able to respond to the airport with short notice (45 minutes) for emergency purposes.
