**Course Description**:
In this course, students will learn skills and techniques to communicate effectively in an organization. Creativity, innovation and personal style will be emphasized. Students will build confidence in their ability to communicate effectively in every setting while incorporating equity, diversity, and inclusion considerations. This course is a mandatory requirement for all management students. It includes work-integrated-learning components, and satisfies the WIL requirement of the BBA degree.

**Qualifications**:
Minimum: A master’s degree in organizational behaviour/industrial-organizational psychology OR a master’s degree in social/personality psychology with at least 2 courses at the graduate level in organizational psychology. A strong academic record along with previous experience teaching this course or a similar course at the undergraduate level OR experience with activities related to teaching this course (e.g., experience being a teaching assistant, teaching some sessions of the course, experience in course development etc.), OR professional experience in a related field (e.g., communication consultant, management consultant, public relations); previous experience teaching a university-level course, in the field of communications, with consistent, strong course evaluations.

Preferred (in addition to minimum): A Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior or Industrial-Organizational Psychology OR a Ph.D. in Human Resources Management/Social/Personality Psychology with at least 2 courses at the graduate level in organizational behaviour/organizational psychology. A strong academic record along with previous experience teaching this course or a similar course at the undergraduate level with good teaching evaluations.

**Duties**:
All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration, and marking of assignments, tests, and exams; calculation and submission of grades, holding regular office hours, and maintaining reasonable availability for student and administrative contact, supervision of T.A. assigned to course.

**Estimated TA Support (Hours)**:
Approximately 50 minutes per student enrolled over 30

**Salary for a half-course (0.50 FCEs) inclusive of vacation pay**: The Sessional Lecturer I rate of pay will be $9,457.89. Sessional Lecturer I-Long Term rate of pay will be $9,930.79. Sessional Lecturer II rate of pay will be $10,121.76. Sessional Lecturer II-Long Term rate of pay will be $10,326.61. Sessional Lecturer III rate of pay will be $10,362.76. Sessional Lecturer III-Long Term rate of pay will be $10,570.01.
