**Nature and Scope**
The Project Specialist is accountable for the coordination, management, and administration of projects and initiatives under Oẏateki. This position will positively promote and create an environment that demonstrates SIIT's -Oẏateki vision, mission, and mandate.

**General Accountability**
The Project Specialist is responsible for the organization of Oẏateki projects from start to finish, including administration and financial budgeting, project development, monitoring, and overseeing of assignments, and completing evaluations.
The Project Specialist will oversee projects in the implementation of Oẏateki strategic initiatives. The Project Specialist will assist with overseeing the design, planning, implementation, of projects that involve multiple functional areas across partnership institutions. This position provides additional support as required and includes the following broad range of accountabilities:
**Specific Accountabilities**
**_ Coordination, Monitoring & Administration _**
- Identify, initiate, and support the management of projects for the Oẏateki Partnership as requested
- Monitor student success statistics via a project dashboard in conjunction with partners, government, and non-government stakeholders
- Plan, implement, and evaluate the Oẏateki project activities within the province while collaborating with various departments and stakeholders
- Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of partner projects as requested
- Ensure Oẏateki projects meet the needs of stakeholders where applicable
- Ensure the projects are on schedule within the allotted time
- Work closely with relevant personnel and partners to ensure project student recruitment/orientation opportunities, and joint workshop initiatives for stakeholders
- Prepare and submit reports to internal and external stakeholders as required; participate in follow-up Oẏateki surveys

Project Management & Administration_**
- Prepare and organize project plans and reports
- Lead the preparation of bi-annual project reporting
- Remain up to date with educational innovations, information, standards, trends
- Assist Director in the overall operations, financial performance, and growth of the Oẏateki project load
- Monitor events, projects, and training to ensure events are organized and run smoothly
- Collect data on events, trainings, meetings, assess results, and make recommendations for future project planning and delivery
- Interact with various teams to coordinate project activities
- Research mentors, trainers, facilitators, and topics for projects

Partnering & Reporting_**
- Assist Director by engaging with internal and external stakeholders to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives
- Provide awareness of the Oẏateki initiatives and projects.
- Organize and cofacilitate engagement sessions with First Nation communities, stakeholders, and partners
- Ensure students, stakeholder needs are met as the projects evolve
- Develop resources, engagement session materials and deal with common challenges
- Provide regular updates on project activities to Director, internal and external partners and stakeholders
- Liaise with faculty, staff, and students as required and encourage innovative solutions to issues as they arise
- Develop, promote and maintain positive working relationships with other institutes and partners, in order to meet community, professional, development and educational needs
- Ensure strict confidentiality and privacy of information as it relates to students, clients, staff, partners, and other third parties
- Contribute to strategic effectiveness by participating on internal and external committees, as requested by supervisor
**_ Project Resource Allocation_**
- Develop and monitor budgets for all programs/projects as requested
- Ensure sufficient resources are available to implement projects
