Project Manager - Heavy Industrial

Peter Lucas Project Management Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to join our team in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. As an owner representative project manager, you will be responsible for managing projects supporting the client's capital project portfolio in a potash mining environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute underground capital projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
  • Manage projects within the site owner's project management framework.
  • Develop project scope with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Secure project materials and resources by utilizing the site owner's procurement process.
  • Perform field visits to coordinate material and labor resources and ensure work is safely progressing according to plan.
  • Monitor and forecast project budget and schedule to ensure plans are on track.
  • Identify and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Meet specific project KPIs as required.
  • Engage with relevant project stakeholders, including project reporting to management.
  • Perform continuous improvement of the project management process.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of owner's representative industrial project management experience.
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant technical field.
  • A PMP or CAPM designation is not required but is considered an asset.
  • Maintenance, project, and/or operational experience at an operating facility or a heavy industrial site is considered an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Efficient use of Microsoft 365 Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Direct experience in underground potash is considered an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problem-solving, organizational skills, and detail-oriented.
