Finance Assistant

Job Overview:
Working cross-functionally, this role involves monitoring project costs, processing financial data, and facilitating timely, accurate reporting. Additionally, the Financial Coordinator/Business Analyst will streamline workflows across areas like accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project billing, helping to align financial operations with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately administer and allocate project-related data, including equipment, labor, and material costs.
- Support the processing and management of invoices, project billing, and receivables, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide critical financial data to support budgeting, forecasting, project performance, and internal reporting.
- Assist with daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial processes, including month-end close, audits, and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, project management, and other departments to ensure financial data integrity and efficient workflows.
- Monitor project budgets, costs, and financial metrics to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Contribute to the development of tools and processes that streamline financial reporting and project cost tracking.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a finance, accounting, or business analysis role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel (advanced skills such as pivot tables, formulas, and financial modeling).
- Basic working knowledge of accounting systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Knowledge of financial policies, reporting practices, and general accounting principles.
