Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is a 60/40 joint venture partnership between Equinox Gold and Orion Mine Finance Group formed for the purpose of the joint ownership and development of the Greenstone Gold Property including the Greenstone Mine located on a historical mine site in the Geraldton-Beardmore Greenstone belt in Ontario. The Greenstone Mine is managed directly by a dynamic and experienced Owner’s team, with an estimated $1.5 Billion investment over the three-year construction and commissioning phase, and a 14-year operating life of mine.

Greenstone Mine is seeking a Manager, Sustainability and Environment to join our team. Reporting to the General Manager, the Manager, Sustainability and Environment is responsible for implementing the short and long-term plans and strategies for Sustainability and Environment with oversight of Indigenous Relations.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE**: Advising and delivering positive outcomes with all external stakeholders, both local and regional in support of company strategy to move from project development and into an operating mine by developing plans and implementing sustainability and environment strategies and programs. Directs, and coordinates activities in developing policy standards, guidance, procedures, monitoring reporting processes for sustainability and environment and overseeing Indigenous Relations strategies. Secures required permits and licenses in a timely manner, and developing effective relationships to maintain Greenstone Gold Mine “social license” to operate. Advice and support with implementation of the Long Terms Relationship Agreements. Develop positive relationships with central and local government authorities. Develop positive relationships with local Indigenous Communities and band councils in conjunction with Indigenous Relations personnel Working with the appropriate operational and functional personnel, manage negotiations and the process of obtaining all necessary permits and licenses for construction and production stages of the project. Assist and advise to ensure compliance with technical, environmental and operating standards and regulations in Northern Ontario. Work with the General Manager on all government relations matters that require official requests, correspondence & responses, testimony and or resources. Develop strategies and represent the company in dealing with issues raised by lobby groups, communities Provide leadership for the management of community relations and development initiatives in local area and region. Work with provincial, municipal and other elected and or appointed officials on a variety of issues of mutual interest and interact with local and community organizations. Develop the budget for the departments and regularly monitor expenditures. Acts as the spokesperson on government relations matters, and promote company image in media as required. Work with appropriate legal advisors to deal with legal and compliance issues as required. Develop appropriate organization structure for the community relations, compliance and environment departments initially for the operational stage.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Strong expertise in government & regional relations, specifically with Indigenous Committees
Knowledgeable of mining industry and legal and permitting requirements
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, ability to operate within a project team and to deal with complex problems are required.
Must be results orientated and able to focus on the key deliverables, and be able to operate with mínimal supervision.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
Bachelors’ degree preferably in environmental studies or social science, legal, public policy and administration,
A post-graduate qualification in business management or leadership is preferred Minimum of 10 years work experience in managing & executing sustainability and environmental programs, permitting, community engagement preferably within Ontario Proven leadership skills Prior experience working with international organization, particularly mining would be an advantage

LOCATION This position will be based at site in Geraldton, ON.
Greenstone Mine provides company transportation from multiple pick-up point locations.
