Greenstone Gold Mines LP is on the lookout for an Environmental Coordinator to become a vital part of our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring adherence to environmental regulations and the execution of our sustainability commitments. The Environmental Coordinator will report directly to the Senior Environmental Supervisor and will play a key role in overseeing environmental compliance monitoring at our mining operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Oversee the execution of our environmental monitoring initiatives, which encompass environmental sampling, site inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Formulate field procedures and deliver training on sample collection and data monitoring as per environmental permits and regulations.
  • Assist in crafting environmental programs and practices to guarantee compliance with applicable regulations and permits.
  • Guide and train environmental monitoring technicians and contractors.
  • Analyze laboratory data to identify trends and ensure site compliance.
  • Promote a culture of safety by participating in regular safety meetings.
  • Conduct ongoing inspections and risk assessments to pinpoint and rectify unsafe conditions in the workplace.
  • Contribute to the development of Greenstone Gold Mine's Environmental Management System and perform internal audits.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure earthworks are executed in compliance with permits and management plans.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively with a diverse workforce.
  • Self-driven and safety-oriented.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management, Science, or Engineering.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience, preferably in the mining sector.
  • Experience in environmental data management and report preparation.
  • Familiarity with environmental legislation and industry standards in Ontario.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.

WORK LOCATION:

  • This position will operate on a rotational basis at the mine site.
