The opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, Accounts Receivable, the Supervisor, Accounts Receivable is responsible for overseeing activities within the AR function and the day-to-day delivery of Accounts Receivable services, firm-wide, with a team of 7 staff. The AR department processes all AR transactions and processes receipts approximating $100 million per month.
What you will do:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of Accounts Receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of incoming payments from clients
- Provide leadership and support the AR Team to ensure timely processing of receipts and AR maintenance requests
- Ensure corporate policy, procedures and financial internal controls are followed company wide
- Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with internal and external clientele
- Responsible for monitoring and reconciling AR subledger and balance sheet accounts; investigate and resolve issues
- Liaise with Treasury and engagement teams to resolve issues with incoming AR payments
- Follow-up, respond and resolve issues originating from AR queries and escalate as needed
- Continuously search for opportunities to improve AR processes and reduce rework/manual work
- Train and supervise Accounts Receivable staff to provide clarity and success in their job responsibilities
- Provide support to the Manager, Accounts Receivable, assist with any other duties or special projects assigned by management
What you bring to this role:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a senior/lead role in a large integrated Accounts Receivable environment
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels within an organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize and multitask to meet time sensitive deadlines
- Flexible, adaptable and can adjust to new tasks in a rapidly changing and growing environment
- Must be able to learn quickly, self-starter attitude
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Flexible team player with the ability to function independently while working in a team environment
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Proven ability to accurately handle high volume of transactions, meet deadlines and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
- Must have at least 2 years work experience in a large computerized AR environment
- Post-secondary education including knowledge and understanding of basic accounting concepts
- Advanced skills with Excel, Outlook, MS office word
- Experience with SAP a definite asset
- Commitment to delivering quality customer service supported by strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to deal with a variety of people and answer queries in a professional manner
