**Hours**: 22.5 per week **Pay Rate**:$22.50

**Duration**: 40 weeks

**Summary**:
Assist with developing and managing three of Heartland Forest’s key social enterprise areas: Facility Services, Woodshop, and Discovery Atrium, also support program areas as needed. Working in close collaboration with the Social Enterprise Director and staff team to achieve the goals and mission of the organization with a focus on program sustainability and bringing in revenue to be reinvested into the organization.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Facility Services **_
- Assist in managing facility and pavilion rentals, memorials, and corporate bookings.
- Collaborate with the Heartland Forest team to develop new facility service packages and options.
- Track facility services budgets and expenses.
- Work closely with the Forest Discovery team to implement corporate bookings.
- Convey the needs of Facility Services bookings to the appropriate staff.
- Provide facility support as required.
- Oversee marketing of Facility Services via social media and the Heartland Forest website in coordination with IT.
- **Woodshop **_
- Work closely with the Social Enterprise Director and the Woodshop Coordinator to develop new gift shop items and custom order options.
- Photo, edit and upload new gift shop items into point-of-sale software and the Heartland Forest website.
- Maintain records for the gift shop inventory.
- Price out products and materials for the gift shop.
- Oversee marketing and promotions of the gift shop, custom orders and workshops via social media and the Heartland Forest website in coordination with IT
- Work closely with the Social Enterprise Director and the Woodshop team to develop new workshop opportunities.
- Maintain workshop administration records, including registrations, waivers and feedback questionnaires.
- Provide support to workshops as required.
- **Discovery Atrium**_
- Provide coverage for Nature Centre’s Reception and Café as needed.
- Maintain records of the cafe inventory.
- Uphold the safety standards of café/food handling.
- Explore options for travelling exhibits and Heartland Forest seasonal exhibits and assist with marketing and promoting the Discovery Atrium in coordination with IT.
- **Program Support**_
- Provide coverage for staff and support for participants in our Adult Day Program as needed. Working with the Volunteer Coordinator, oversee and support volunteers in your assigned areas as needed.

**Competencies**:

- Ability to plan, organize and work effectively within a diverse team environment.
- Personable and professional with customer service experience.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel).
- Familiarity with Canva, Social Media Platforms, Google Forms, POS systems, WooCommerce, and WordPress assets.
- First Aid, CPR certified and Food Handler Certification an asset.
- Clear vulnerable sector screening.
- Ability to be present and dependable for scheduled shifts with reliable transportation.
- Compassion for others and a commitment to ‘doing their best.’

**Supervisory Responsibilities**:
Supervising volunteers and participants while on Heartland Forest property, ensuring all follow and maintain Heartland Forest’s code of conduct, healthy and safe working habits and tasks as assigned.

**Education and/or Experience**:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have administrative experience and excellent people and organizational skills. Marketing and social media experience are an asset—experience working with special needs youth and adults is beneficial.

**Safety**:

- Supports the corporate Occupational Health & Safety initiatives by incorporating safe work practices into daily work routines.
- Report any unsafe conditions or observed unsafe work practices to the Social Enterprise Director.

**Work Conditions**:

- May be required to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Some physical labour involved (facility set up and maintenance, pop-up Gift Shop Parkside)

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
