**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Manager of By-Law and Licensing, the Municipal Law Enforcement Supervisor will work collaboratively with the Municipal Law Enforcement Manager to lead, support, and advance the overall by-law and enforcement efforts and initiatives of the Town of The Blue Mountains. The Supervisor acts as the lead officer, dispatching, triaging, and leading calls for service, as well as assisting in managing incoming service requests. This role will proactively enforce municipal by-laws and Provincial legislation/regulations through a range of education, compliance, and prosecutions, while also monitoring compliance with agreements between the Town and other parties. Additionally, the Municipal Law Enforcement Supervisor is expected to take initiative and provide guidance to assist staff within the By-Law Division as needed.

**What you will need**:

- 2-year post-secondary diploma in an approved Law Enforcement Program, Police Studies/Foundations, Law & Security, Justice and Administration or related discipline or equivalent in experience
- Certification as a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer with the Municipal Law Enforcement Officers Association of Ontario.
- Willing to work towards certification as a Property Standards Officer with the Ontario Association of Property Standards Officers.
- Five (5) years of law enforcement or related experience. Knowledge of short-term accommodation is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of the principles of personnel supervision, training, and evaluation, in addition to safe work practices. Previous supervisory experience is an asset.
- Must be capable of performing the physical requirements of the position.
- Demonstrated ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor the progress of all direct reports.
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
- Must have the ability to de-escalate situations due to the nature of conflict involved in municipal law enforcement.
- Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on mentoring and motivation of employees.
- High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning.
- Strong time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public relations skills.
- Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy by working independently and as part of an enforcement team.
- General understanding and appreciation of downtown and local attractions.
- Possess a Criminal Record Check with results satisfactory to the Town.

This is a full-time opportunity at the Town. The annual salary for this role is **$78,278.20 to $91,600.60 (2024 Rate).** The Town also offers the following to our employees:
