We are an exciting new restaurant concept opening in West Edmonton Mall in the Spring of 2024. We will be an energetic, fun, casual dining full-service restaurant that will cater to families, date nights, friends for drinks, or anyone that wants to eat outstanding, authentic tacos or drink tequila

Our Front of House is to give outstanding customer service, serve outstanding signature cocktails, have a strong Margarita and Mexican beverage program, and carry a vast selection of tequila ranging from less expensive call brands to very expensive, hard to find bottles. Our Back of House mandate will be to produce fresh, home-made, authentic Mexican cuisine using only the highest quality ingredients.

**Position**: Assistant General Manager

**Description**: The Assistant General Manager (AGM) will be vital to the operation of the Front of House business and report directly to the General Manager (GM) of the business. It will be incumbent of the AGM to foster an environment where creativity, guest service, event sales, and sports are all able to thrive. Guest service should be the #1 priority with every decision you make The AGM will work with the GM to create a unique entertainment environment that will require constant focus on talent, the development of your team, and use your previous hospitality experience to lead the business forward. The AGM will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, such as running shifts, coaching team members, ordering, following all brand policies, procedures and guidelines and ensuring the profitability of the business.

**Essential Functions**

- Supervise the operation of the front of house including the dining sections and bar, to maximize profitability, minimize legal liability, and conform to all brand operational policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Recruit, interview, and hire team members; supervise, take escalating disciplinary action, motive, and train.
- Conduct and help with training of new team members.
- Develop team members by providing ongoing feedback, establishing performance expectations, and by conducting performance reviews.
- Manage shifts which include daily decision making, managing the schedule, planning while upholding brand standards, policies and procedures and cleanliness.
- Control day-to-day operations by scheduling labor, ordering product and supplies, and coaching and developing the 1st RND team.
- Ensure compliance of Occupational and Safety Health Act, local health and safety codes, and company safety and security policy.
- Control Profit & Loss by following cash control procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor, reviewing sales projections, and taking appropriate action.
- Ensure a safe environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents. Complete incident reports promptly in the event a guest or team member is injured.
- Troubleshoot and smooth issues relating to the successful execution of events.

**Position Requirements**:

- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Minimum 5+ years experience in a hospitality management position
- Post Secondary education in hospitality or related work experience.
- Previous experience opening multiple restaurants.
- Proven track record of building a successful team through networking, recruiting, training. Develop and assess talent.
- Proven ability to increase sales and profitability.
- Highly motivated to work independently and without direct supervision.
- Proactive, well organized, and forward thinking.
- Exceptionally good with social media.
- Have a passion for quality food and service.
- Must have exceptional communication skills.
- Have experience operating and making weekly payroll submissions.
- Have experience and knowledge of local labour laws.
- Knowledge and background in Food Safety. Having an AHS Food Safety Certificate is preferred.
- Have AGLC Proserve certification.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be highly self sufficient and capable of making quick and well thought out decisions.
- Must have own transportation.
- Be able to stand on your feet for 8+ hours.
- Be able to lift 20 lbs.
- Must be passionate about sports.
