The Communications and Business Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies, managing external and internal communications, and coordinating various business-related tasks. This role requires exceptional communication, organizational, and project management skills.

The ideal Communications and Business Coordinator effectively delivers SSCC messages to the public and the media. The incumbent will assist in the creation of promotional materials, contribute to the development of company websites, organize meetings and presentations, and interact with clients.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

**Social Media Marketing**
- Develop and execute social media marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and engagement
- Create social media content (text, images, and videos) that aligns with the brand's voice and tone
- Monitor social media accounts and engage with followers
- Analyze social media metrics and adjust strategies to improve performance
- Stay up-to-date with social media trends and best practices

**Graphics**
- Develop and maintain brand identity guidelines
- Collaborate with the marketing team to design marketing campaigns and promotional materials
- Use graphic design software to create visual assets that communicate brand messaging
- Maintain a library of digital assets for use across various marketing channels

**Communications**
- Develop and implement communication strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives
- Write and edit content for various communication channels such as newsletters, press releases, and website copy
- Manage external and internal communications, including media relations, public relations, and employee communications
- Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and industry influencers
- Analyze communication metrics and adjust strategies to improve performance

**Event Planning**
- Plan and coordinate events, conferences, and other marketing activities
- Develop event concepts and themes that align with the brand's values and objectives
- Coordinate with vendors, sponsors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth event execution
- Develop and manage event budgets and timelines
- Evaluate event success and identify areas for improvement

**Member Relations**
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with members of the organization
- Provide excellent customer service to members, including responding to inquiries and resolving issues
- Develop and implement strategies to increase member engagement and satisfaction
- Coordinate member events and programs to promote member networking and engagement
- Monitor member feedback and make recommendations for improvements to products, services, and programs
- Maintain accurate records of member information and activities
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure member needs are met and communication is effective

**Other related duties as assigned.**

**Qualifications**
- College Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or business development
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software
- Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in communications and marketing

**Working Conditions**
- This position is set in the office of the SSCC.
- The standard workweek for this position is 35 hours. The standard business hours for this position is 9 am to 5 pm with one hour for lunch. Overtime and hours worked outside of the standard work schedule may be required.
- Some travel may be required.
- Extended periods of sitting
- Long periods on a computer screen

**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
