The CAO is a delegated administrative authority that supports condo living and enhances consumer protection by providing services and resources that reach all condo communities across Ontario. We are accountable to the government through an Administrative Agreement with the Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement. The seven-member board of directors provides strategic guidance and oversight of the organization.

**Purpose of position**

The Technical Business Analyst collaborates with **product managers** and business teams to gather, document, and optimize business requirements for **Agile product development projects**. The role focuses on enhancing CAO’s custom digital systems and services by analyzing processes, facilitating solutions, and ensuring development aligns with business goals. This position also supports **product strategy, user-centred design**, and backlog management to deliver exceptional solutions.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Business Analysis**
- Collaborate with product managers, business teams, and developers to gather and define detailed requirements for CAO systems.
- Create and maintain documentation, including PBIs (Product Backlog Items), features/epics, process flows, and acceptance criteria, ensuring they are Agile-compliant and development ready.
- Collaborate with the development team to ensure user stories meet the Definition of Ready (DoR) before development.
- Ensure solutions align with UX/UI design principles and user-centered design.
- Assist in prioritizing the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder priorities.
- Break down epics into actionable PBIs and prioritize them for development teams.
- Collaborate with product managers to align product vision with business goals and development outcomes.
- Work with stakeholders to define and validate MVPs (Minimum Viable Products).
- Contribute to product roadmap planning, ensuring a user-focused approach to delivery.
- Provide feedback on tools like Figma to refine product features and user experience.

**Collaboration and Communication**
- Participate in Sprint Reviews to validate completed work and gather stakeholder feedback.
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate business requirements into user flows and wireframes.
- Facilitate continuous improvement by identifying gaps or issues during sprint retrospectives and proposing actionable solutions.

**Quality Assurance**
- Participate in **Sprint Reviews** to validate completed work and gather stakeholder feedback.
- Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and create functional test cases to ensure system quality and performance.
- **Help verify Acceptance Criteria (AC)** to ensure functional items work as intended.
- Facilitate **continuous improvement** by identifying gaps or issues during sprint retrospectives and proposing actionable solutions.

**Qualifications, skills and knowledge**

**Required**:

- Bachelor's degree in business, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- **5+ years** of experience in a Business Analyst role for **custom software development**.
- Strong understanding of **Agile methodologies**, including experience with PBIs, epics, features, and acceptance criteria.
- Experience supporting **product strategy**, backlog prioritization, and product roadmap planning.
- Ability to collaborate on **user flows, wireframes, and prototypes** with product managers and designers.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to document complex business processes effectively.

**Assets**:

- IIBA certification (CBAP, CCBA, or Agile Analysis Certification).
- Experience with **UX/UI principles** and accessibility compliance (e.g., AODA).
- Familiarity with user testing and feedback processes.
