- **About the Role**_

Reporting to the Controller, the **Accounting Specialist **will be focused on accounting and finance efforts in managing monetary controls and will be an active participant in the finance department.

- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Review invoices received from vendors and verifying that they are accurate and properly authorized for payment.
- Maintain accurate records of vendor accounts, responding to inquiries and requests from vendors, and ensuring that all payments are made in a timely and accurate manner.
- Reconcile accounts payable with vendor statements and resolving any discrepancies that may arise.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions, including invoices, payments, and vendor information.
- Prepare reports on accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, aging reports, and other reporting requirements.
- Create and issue invoices to customers or clients for goods or services provided.
- Receive and process payments from customers, including cash, checks, and electronic payments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts receivable transactions, including invoices, payments, and customer information.
- Follow up with customers on overdue payments, sending out reminders, and initiating collection procedures as needed.
- Communicate with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve any issues related to accounts receivable activities.
- Assist with budget preparation.
- Assist with various administrative duties pertaining to office management.
- Provide consistent excellent customer service to all internal and external parties.
- Occasional office and Controller duties to support additional business needs and/or team member coverage needs.

- **About You**_
- College or university education in accounting program is required.
- 3+ years previous experience in an accounting role, with focus on inventory controls, procurement process, and reporting.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems; proven experience in workflow process and daily business activities that are part of an ERP system.
- Experience in project management is beneficial, but not required.
- Knowledge of accounting systems; using multi-currency systems.
- Strong Microsoft Office skill.
- Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills, exercise good judgement, and critical thinking.
- Strong interpersonal skills, outgoing and can maintain collaborative relationships with suppliers and internal customers.
- Well organized with attention to detail and ability to prioritize time sensitive activities.
- Strong oral & written communication skills.
- Highly motivated to learn and grow, both personally and professionally.
- Take initiative to increase process & cost efficiencies.
