**The Position**

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide support, guidance, and capacity development to the participating First Nations
- including extensive travel to all of the Communities;
- Provide supervision of the Traffic Safety Liaison and Youth Community Reintegration Workers;
- Assist each First Nation in meeting yearly objectives and requirements;
- Serve as a liaison between the STC First Nations, Saskatchewan Ministry of Justice, Justice Canada, Crown Prosecutors, Defence Lawyers, R.C.M.P., Victim Support, Addictions, Mental Health, the Indian Justice Council of Saskatchewan;
- Attend each of the Communities’ monthly Community Justice Committee meetings as requested;
- Co-ordinate and/or facilitate meetings, orientations, workshops, and training with the First Nations based on their individual needs and according to their work plans;
- Organize and facilitate monthly meetings for the Community Justice Workers as an opportunity for capacity development and networking;
- Coordinate work plans, program activities, financials, budgets, and statistical reporting requirements for the Justice Director, the funding agencies, and the First Nations;
- File management for all Communities which will include entering all data onto the Ministry of Justice CRM Database;
- Assist as required with the Alternative Measures/Extrajudicial Sanctions processes on each First Nation; this will include providing client services during a vacancy in a community;
- Conduct monthly file reviews with each Justice Worker based on file load to ensure the Ministry of Justice’s Program Policy is being followed;
- Develop, enhance and maintain Justice related partnerships with Communities and/or Stakeholders; this will include proposal writing, organizing/planning, creating promotional items, facilitating, and evaluating;
- Perform other related duties as defined and assigned by the reporting Director or designate on an as and when required basis.

**Education and Experience**:

- Human Justice, Sociology, or Social Work Degree;
- Minimum of three years experience in a related position/field;
- Training and experience in mediation and facilitation;
*** **Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities**:

- Knowledge of First Nations culture, the Criminal Justice System, and restorative justice;
- Knowledge of the Youth Criminal Justice Act and the court process,
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and public speaking skills;
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and experience working with databases.
- Good financial literacy with the ability to work with budgets and other financial documents;
- Previous experience working with First Nations is an asset;
- Ability to speak Cree, Saulteaux, or Dakota is an asset;
- Knowledge of the political, social, and economic objectives of the Saskatoon Tribal Council and of the Dakota, Cree, and Saulteaux cultures will be considered an asset.

**Other**:

- Must provide a current, original, Canadian Criminal Record Check (CCRC) with vulnerable sector search as a condition of employment.
