Port Moody, Canada Rainforest Adventure Camps Full time

We are seeking experienced wellness, camp, child care, outdoor recreation professionals that wish to make a positive impact in the community. You are experienced and trained in different wellness modalities and have experience teaching these. Extensive knowledge of games is also recommended. We seek and value a diverse and inclusive community. A CRC/CIC is required. Please include a recent Criminal Record/Info Check if you have one.

The Summer Camp Wellness Guide will lead kids camp (ages 6-9) and youth camp (ages 10-12) at our Tri-Cities North Camps (White Pine Beach, Rocky Point, Eagleridge Pool, the Coquitlam Aquatic Complex, Poirier Pool, Crash Crawly's (if heavy rain is forecast), and more) and/or Tri-Cities West and Beyond Camps (out-trips that we meet at include Rocky Point, Barnet Beach, Westhill Park, Hume Park, Blue Mountain Park, Crash Crawly's (if heavy rain is forecast), Poirier Pool, and more. A reliable car is recommended. Hours are between 8 am - 6 pm Monday-Friday. This is a hybrid position that is part Camp Guide and part Wellness Guide.

The position will include, but is not limited to:

- Building communities of empathy, kindness, and respect
- Sharing health and wellness self-care in an engaging and age-friendly way
- Mentoring those who seek or need
- Leading wellness funshops for kids
- Potentially leading wellness workshops for staff and volunteers
- Ensuring everyone's wellness, safety, and engagement
- Collaborating with other Camp Staff and Volunteers
- Developing a safe, inclusive, and fun community for all
- Anticipating potential challenges and de-escalating and resolving them

Full time
- 35-40 hours per week from June 29-Sept. 1.

The position will generally be outdoors, active, and requires a lot of patience. As this job is partially funded by Canada Summer Jobs, staff need to be between 18-30 years old and Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents.

Adventure Play Care Society is a non-profit that operates Rainforest Adventure Camps for kids and youth. These camps are outdoors in and around the Tri-cities exploring some of the most beautiful forests, lakes, beaches, and rivers in the area. Our camps seek to further develop participants' independence, leadership, empathy, resilience, and social growth in a fun, safe, and peaceful setting. Our programs are child-centred. Our mission is to inspire, empower, and create community.
