Port Moody, Canada Rainforest Adventure Camps Full time

**Job description**

We are looking for experienced camp, child care, and outdoor recreation professionals that wish to make a positive impact in the community. Summer camp guides lead either the kids camp (ages 6-9) or youth camp (ages 10-12) at our Tri-Cities North Camps (White Pine Beach, Rocky Point, Eagleridge Pool, the Coquitlam Aquatic Complex, Poirier Pool, Crash Crawly's (if heavy rain is forecast), and more) or Tri-Cities West and Beyond Camps (out-trips that we meet at include Rocky Point, Barnet Beach, Westhill Park, Hume Park, Blue Mountain Park, Crash Crawly's (if heavy rain is forecast), Poirier Pool, and more. A reliable car is recommended. Hours are between 8 am - 6 pm Monday-Friday. This is a very active role that actively participates in all activities.

The position will include, but is not limited to:

- Ensuring everyone's wellness, safety, and engagement
- Collaborating with other Camp Staff and Volunteers
- Developing a safe, inclusive, and fun community for all
- Anticipating potential challenges and de-escalating and resolving them

Full time
- 35-40 hours per week from June 29-Sept. 1.

The position will generally be outdoors, is very active, and requires a lot of patience. As this job is partially funded by Canada Summer Jobs, staff need to be between 18-30 years old and Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents.

Adventure Play Care Society is a non-profit that operates Rainforest Adventure Camps for kids and youth. These camps are outdoors in and around the Tri-cities exploring some of the most beautiful forests, lakes, beaches, and rivers in the area. Our camps seek to further develop participants' independence, leadership, empathy, resilience, and social growth in a fun, safe, and peaceful setting. We also run after-school and theatre programs with public performances. Our programs are child-centred. Our mission is to inspire, empower, and create community.

**Salary**: From $17.00 per hour
