**The role we are offering you**:
A vendor manager orchestrates the IT department’s dealings with its suppliers, such as makers of hardware and software and providers of services. The vendor manager guides the purchasing of products or services for the department. This includes evaluating a potential provider’s reputation, resources and expertise, as well as helping with negotiations and contracts. Large IT departments may need a vendor management office, not just one person. This is often necessary when an IT department has varied and complex contracts with outsourcers.

By joining our Global Strategic Sourcing team, you will have the opportunity to participate in exciting opportunities from the inception of the CAE strategic vision. Collaborating and working alongside our global digital strategy teams in Information Technology (IT) and the Digital Accelerator (DA) teams, you will identify, analyze, evaluate the right vendors, right technology and support the growth of CAE. Ready to:
Formulates and implements category strategies.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as IT, Legal, Finance.
Leads stakeholder discussion and development of pre-contract requirements for IT vendor performance criteria, such as Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and delivery requirements to ensure acceptable performance and receipt of all materials required by the vendor engagement. Additionally, you will provide post-contract monitoring of vendor performance, identify deficiencies and institute remedial action to modify vendor performance.
Support assigned Technology related RFPs, contracts, renewals and SOWs to ensure inclusion of all technology requirements appropriate for the business need, to ensure minimization of risk and assurance the contract value is delivered.
Working with the business, recommend, draft and negotiate appropriate SLAs, oversee performance that is measured against the SLA and institute corrective and preventive actions, or processes, to improve the quality and timeliness of service delivery.
Conducts market intelligence to identifies opportunities and channel innovation.
Expertly uses market intelligence to elaborate supplier strategies.
Executes supplier performance management strategy to monitors external partner’s performance against CAE requirements and contractual obligations with a perfect knowledge of existing contracts for products and services.
Demonstrates abilities to deal efficiently with critical suppliers in the best interests of the company. Provides relevant feedback and information about the relationship.
Expertly recognizes supplier development opportunities. Establishes a clear schedule for project delivery involving other relevant functions and external resources.
Identifies and conducts cross-functional cost reduction initiatives on sourced products and services.
Provides expert recommendations to internal stakeholders.
Display strong understanding of principles and techniques of spend analysis and cost optimization to communicate crucial information to all internal stakeholders.

University undergraduate degree (such as bachelor’s and B.Sc.) in an IT discipline, commerce or a related field of study.
MBA an asset, especially if prime degree is in Engineering or Sciences.
Min 10 years of relevant experience.
Strong negotiation skills and demonstrable business acumen.
Relationship building skills.
Excellent task and project management skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and good presentation skills in English and French.
Senior IT professional with at least 10 years of experience. Broad understanding of IT. Experience with software licensing, hardware procurement and outsourcing agreements. Ability to manage virtual, geographically dispersed vendors.

**Good assets**:
Knowledge of the aviation market and its procurement process.
Experience in writing specific summaries, reports, business letters and business plans.
