**Position Overview**:
Excellent ability to build relationships and work effectively with others.

**Key Responsibilities**

Be comfortable teaching Academic Writing this includes
- Guiding students through the writing process, from brainstorming and outlining to drafting, revising, and editing.
- Teaching students to structure academic papers, including developing strong thesis statements, creating logical arguments, and organizing ideas effectively.
- Instructing on proper citation styles (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago) and academic integrity practices, such as avoiding plagiarism.
- Helping students improve grammar, syntax, and clarity in their writing.
- Providing constructive feedback on drafts, encouraging critical thinking, and supporting students in revising and refining their work.
- Assisting students in developing their academic voice, and fostering a deeper understanding of writing conventions in various disciplines.
- Encouraging peer review and collaborative writing exercises to build a supportive learning environment.
- May also include helping Grade 11 and Grade 12 students write for University Applications.

**Qualifications**:

- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, English, or Education.
- Teaching Certificate, PDP, or Orton Gillingham training required.
- At least two years of experience teaching English.
- Criminal Record Check: Criminal record check with the vulnerable sector will be required if a position is offered.

**Nice to have**:

- Possess strong communication skills, enthusiasm, and patience.
- Experience working with learners with special needs.

**Work Eligibility**: Eligibility to work in Canada.
