Willow Tree Daycare Centre and School Age Programs (Child Care United) is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced **cook** for the summer months. Our programs provide play-based care for children aged 18 months to 12 years of age, as part of our team, the individual will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals and snacks for the children in our care.

We are seeking an individual person with a pleasant disposition, who loves cooking and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Child Care United provides family style meals, preparing and serving nutritional, well-balanced snacks and meals.

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES of a Child Care Cook and Worker**:

- Preparation of food for meals and snacks
- Maintaining inventory of supplies
- Meeting the requirements of the local Health Department, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education
- Provide educators with time to develop programming to support engagement in play-based activities
- Provide educators with coverage for breaks
- Establishing and maintaining positive rapport with children and team

**Compensation**
- $18.53 per hour plus $2.00 per hour while working within child-teacher ratio

**Schedule**
- Applicants must be available for shifts ranging during centre’s operational hours (Monday to Friday)
- Scheduled between 28-30 hours per week (including 13 hours per week of staff coverage), with possibility of additional

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 2 months

Part-time hours: 28-30 per week

**Salary**: $18.53 per hour

**Qualifications**:

- Experience in childcare centre an asset but not required
- Safe Food Handling Certificate
- Available for flexible shifts
- Up to date First Aid and CPR (Level C)
- Clear Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last 6 months)
- Up to date Immunizations (including TB test)
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to work effectively and independently with mínimal supervision.
- Active knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act, How Does Learning Happen, ELECT, an asset
