The Community Recreation and Culture Branch is currently looking for dynamic and enthusiastic Skate Monitors to contribute to the fun and safety of patrons at City Arenas.

Skate Monitors will be responsible for the following:

- Supervise Public skating and Shinny hockey as scheduled
- Assist, direct and provide information to the public regarding arena programs
- Maintain program attendance and ensure Shinny and Members have paid admission
- Advise participants of safety requirements and guidelines
- Create a safe, positive and welcoming environment for patrons during arena programs
- Follow and enforce rules to ensure the safety of patrons and staff
- Provide outstanding customer service to patrons
- Create a positive workplace environment through respectful interactions with recreation facility staff
- Attend training as required
- Perform other relevant duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 18 years of age is required
- Completion of Grade 12 or GED
- Experience working with the general public, including children
- Skating ability and possession of skates and helmet
- Excellent communication, teamwork and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently under mínimal or no supervision
- Provide excellent customer service and the ability to handle difficult situations
- Ability to work in various arena locations throughout the City
- Basic level of proficiency using Google Applications
- Possession of valid Intermediate First Aid and CPR Certification is required
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's Licence (or provincial equivalent) is an asset
- Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton
