Bgc Okanagan provides safe and supportive spaces where children, youth and families can experience new opportunities, over come barriers, build positive relationships, and build confidence and skills for life. The Support Worker supports vulnerable youth and their families who face barriers in school, the community, at home, and at the Club. This is a temporary role until March 31, 2025.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Participates in the assessment, goal setting, and evaluation of youth.
- Evaluates participants' needs and develops short-term plans to meet such needs in collaboration with the youth and families.
- Support participants on a one-on-one and/or group basis by performing duties such as providing feedback on youths’ behaviour, teaching coping skills and adaptive behaviour, and providing support. Facilitates physical, recreational, educational, social, and vocational activities.
- Assists with the intake process to ensure assessment, program registration, and all documentation is completed prior to the service beginning for assigned programs.
- Recognizes, analyzes, and deals with potential emergency situations such as participant's aggressive behavior to minimize potential harm to the participants and/or the public. Reports problems to the supervisor.
- Ensures health and safety standards are maintained.
- Provides feedback and support to participants and their families.
- Maintains written reports regarding participants’ daily activities and progress. This includes progress reports, transition reports, and daily case notes. Ensures that all required documentation is complete, accurate, and up to date.
- Accompanies clients to appointments and community outings. Performs other related duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma in a related human/social service field.
- One (1) year recent related experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Class 5 driver’s licence.
- Successful completion of Agency screening process including criminal record check

**Hours**: 28 hours a week, Monday to Friday 12:00pm or 1:00pm - 6:00pm

**Rate of Pay**:$22.28 per hour
