Reporting to the Service Engineering, Integrated Services Readiness (ISR) Department Manager, the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) specialist's role is to ensure that the customer's operations and maintenance requirements are well understood, captured and communicated to the Engineering design teams. The O&M specialist will also act as Alstom's representative in the customers facilities and will assist the various internal teams with issues related to maintenance and on-site coordination of project-related activities and during design reviews.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
From the beginning of the project, work closely with the customers operations and maintenance staff to identify, properly document and communicate to the design team the customer’s specific requirements regarding operations, maintenance and safety requirements in our customers various workshops.
Actively participate in internal reviews with the client, including JDDP, PDR, FDR, mock-up reviews, FAI, etc., to ensure mutual understanding and agreement on design with respect to compliance with operation and maintenance requirements.
Responsible for all technical correspondence with the Customer. Actively participate in the management of requirements for conformity assessment and design for maintenance, including the review of supplier’s technical requirements description (TRD) and change requests (RFCs) and the review of maintenance-related designs.
Work closely with system engineers as well as service engineering teams such as Reliability, Availability, and Safety (RAS), technical publications, training and special tools and test equipment,to enable execution and delivery that will meet contractual requirements. Work closely with our customers and representatives of the Product Introduction (PI) function on the site. This may include providing PI team members with car familiarization training with employees and customers.
Actively participate in various operation and maintenance activities, such as maintenance demonstrations among others. The O&M Specialist is responsible for writing critical documents such as: Maintainability Program Plan, Maintainability Demonstrations Plan and Report, certain Maintainability Analysis not related to a supplier, (e.g. Truck/Bogie) Global Maintenance Plan, LRU/LLRU list, Life Cycle Cost Plan and Report, the definition of the spare parts list. The O&M Specialist must also comment on Supplier Maintainability Analyses, Develop and implement mitigation plans, as appropriate. Ensure appropriate coordination and leadership in organizing maintainability demonstrations. This includes interfaces between different stakeholders, including Customer representatives, design engineers, customer engineers, suppliers, trainers, writers, and maintenance managers.

**Work closely with other project office staff**: project management, supply management, quality, reliability and safety and actively participate in project office activities. Actively participate in the development of the vehicle qualification testing program, ensuring that the customer's operation and maintenance requirements are integrated into our testing program.

**REQUIRED PROFILE**:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant experience
7 to 10 years of relevant experience required
Engineering degree or equivalent experience combined with more than 10 years of experience in the field of public transit vehicles in a manufacturing and/or maintenance environment.
More than 10 years of proven experience in the customer interface, with on-site assignments, an asset.
Excellent knowledge of transit workshops and operating environment with respect to processes, procedures, and safety.
Experience in mechanics is an asset.

**Good knowledge in the following areas**: electromechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Good knowledge of reading the mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
Knowledge of project management tools (MS Project) and the Office suite is essential.
Experience in equipment reliability and safety is an asset.
Be autonomous and demonstrate strong leadership assets
Excellent written and oral communication skills in French and English.
Knowledge of computer science and information systems, including Alstom Engineering tools (SAP, CATIA/AutoCAD Viewer, etc.).
