Family Outreach Facilitator

New Directions is a social service agency offering a wide range of resources and services that foster people’s hopes and dreams in their communities.
**Related Responsibilities & Duties include**:
- Connect with childcare centres throughout Manitoba to assess needs and provide consultation by request.
- Demonstrate awareness and knowledge of cultural diversity and engages in efforts to improve cultural proficiency to effectively serve individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Demonstrate knowledge of First Nations culture and community and integrates this knowledge into the consultation and support services.
- Provide workshops and training requested by childcare sector to early childhood educators and professionals on attachment, trauma, cultural safety, and systems
- Provide wrap around support to children in early childhood education centres by working with parents and other adult supports in the child’s life to meet relational needs using Circle of Security concepts.
- Maintain all related documentation and paperwork
**Qualifications Include**:
- Bachelor’s degree, diploma or certificate in a clinical field (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Applied Counselling, etc.) or an equivalent degree/certification in a related discipline.
- Experience working with the childcare sector with the ability to facilitate family and community supports with a trauma-informed understanding of behaviours as adaptive coping responses and neurobiological patterns.
- An awareness of cross-cultural factors that impact the healing/recovery process, including inter-generational trauma and the impact of colonization on Indigenous and settler communities.
- Knowledge of attachment theory and related interventions as well as play-based interventions.
- Completion of the Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) Facilitator training.
- Demonstrated knowledge of disabilities and skills to work with families and children with disabilities is an asset.
- Experience working with clients involved with multiple systems.
- Willingness to engage in community partnerships.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with access to a reliable vehicle for work purposes
- Comfort in regular use of Microsoft Office products
The salary range for this full-time, 70-hour biweekly position is $26.28 to $33.90 per hour, dependent upon education and/or experience. A full benefits package (which includes Health and Dental Benefits, Long Term Disability Benefits, and Pension Plan) is provided to regular full-time staff.
