Social Media Marketing Intern

We are looking for a **CREATIVE **free-thinker who is not afraid of new challenges. The type of individual who will thrive in the role of Marketing Coordinator at CFT is someone who grabs the bull by the horns. We are a dynamic and rapidly evolving business. Deliverables, projects and timelines move very quickly as priorities fluctuate often. The Marketing Coordinator needs to be able to turn on a dime and **ADAPT** to changing demands.
The Marketing & Communication Department is responsible for CFT’s “voice” externally and internally. This includes and is not limited to internal communications, memos, all social media platforms, website, print marketing, signage, etc. The Marketing Coordinator will be expected to **LEAD **some of these channels which demands the ability to problem solve and work independently.
**DUTIES INCLUDE**:
- Assisting with creating a social media plan/schedule
- Taking photos and video for social media content
- Designing / editing images for LinkedIn, Facebook & Instagram posts & ads using Canva
- Editing video for Youtube, Tik Tok, Facebook, and Instagram reels
- Writing content for social media posts
- Attending marketing meetings and recording the meeting minutes
- Compiling marketing data for weekly and monthly reports
- Assisting with the organization of marketing events
- Attending, and helping out at, marketing events
- Report monthly on what our competitors are doing (social media activity, advertising, promotions, etc.) and brainstorming ways to differentiate ourselves in the marketplace
- Monitoring our lead generating listings (Kijiji, Facebook Marketplace) and make edits as required
- Updating online profiles regularly (Yelp, BBB, Google Business Profile, etc.)
- Assisting with creating the monthly company newsletter and other internal communications
- Supporting the marketing department with administrative tasks
- Other marketing tasks as assigned
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Strong verbal and written English skills
- Ability to provide French translations for ads and social media content is highly desired
- Proficient with the use of Google tools (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets)
- Previous experience with the use of Canva, MailChimp, video editing software, Wordpress, Hootsuite, and Salesforce is an asset
- Basic photography, image and video editing, and graphic design skills
- Basic understanding of SEO techniques and best practices
- Able to work in a deadline driven environment
- Able to use creativity and think outside the box
- Access to a reliable vehicle
This is a full-time position with standard hours between 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. However, occasional adjustments to the schedule may be necessary to accommodate marketing events occurring in the evenings or on weekends. This position is a hybrid role, with a 50/50 split between working from home and working in the office.
