Safety Officer

**Overview**
**Responsibilities**
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, provincial and federal regulations.
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with ISN and other regulatory bodies
- Provide support to employees on safety practices, emergency procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incidents, and compliance reports.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to occupational health and safety.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role within various industries (eg Logging)
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for creating thorough policies and procedures
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Relevant certifications or experience in occupational health and safety policy and procedure development
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong organizational skills.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 - 40 per week
