We encourage child initiated learning through observing children’s interests, families, cultures, life experiences, and our community.

**Role and Responsibilities**:

- Nurtures and supports the development of young children
- Plans daily programming activities providing engaging experiences for the children to learn based on observations of intrinsic interests
- Helps children with their diapering routine and toilet training
- Follows routines, supporting children through transitions
- Assists children will skill development, respecting autonomy
- Carry’s out proper cleaning and sanitization practices
- Participates in child-lead experiences
- Fosters and encourages peer interaction and relationship development
- Builds rapport with students, families and community members

**Skills**:

- Works well with others as well as independently
- Communicates well and can problem-solve well with others
- Self-awareness and self-regulation
- Enthusiastic approach to teaching

**Qualifications**:

- Has obtained a degree in Early Childhood Education (or similar equivalent ie. Child Development Practitioner, Child and Youth Worker)
- Is in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Must have Standard First Aid/CPR **Level C**
- Must be able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check
- Possible shift premium for doing this age group *

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $20.00 per hour
