Job Summary:
The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team as a Child Care Supply RECE. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to children in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional care and supervision to children, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
- Develop and implement engaging play-based learning programs that promote children's cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
- Build strong relationships with families, staff, and volunteers, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment, accommodating the needs of all children, including those with exceptional behaviors and additional needs.
- Stay up-to-date with YMCA policies, procedures, and best practices, maintaining a high level of professionalism and expertise.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve program goals, promoting a culture of teamwork and mutual respect.
Requirements:
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR (Level C) certification or completion of certification within the first 90 days of employment.
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Up-to-date immunizations or equivalent in accordance with local public health and Child Care Early Years Act.
- Availability requirements: minimum of either 2 full days per week (full availability 7am-6pm both days) OR 3 afternoons 2:30-6pm.
- Early Childhood Education Diploma.
- Registered Early Childhood Educator must be registered and a member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) or be willing to obtain registration.
