The Manager Sales and Logistics - Network Storage, reports directly to the Vice President Business Development and Commercial, is responsible, in conjunction with the Business Development and Operations teams to interface and develop relationships directly with external customers and execute sales strategies for new and existing railcar storage and ancillary service operations throughout the network. The Manager Sales & Logistics will be involved in all aspects and phases of the sales and terminal storage cycles, including the development of customer proposals, developing basis of estimates, direct customer interface and meetings, with report development, financial tracking, forecasting and internal communication, further assisting with budget development.

**General Responsibilities**

Manager Sales & Logistics - Network Storage
- Coordinate and oversee with the development of customer requirements and proposals with respect to terminal and network capacity.
- Take a lead role in managing customer communications and interactions.
- Take a leadership role in managing internal Terminal communications amongst stakeholders.
- Development of weekly sales reports and capacity updates affecting the network.
- Development of budget and budget forecasts.
- Review and comment on existing processes and operations.
- Provide opinion and recommendation with regards to efficiency opportunities and improvements.
- Create, track, and maintain financial records, reports, and processes as required
- Maintain timelines, budgets, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction
- Development and execution of approved sales strategies
- Act as the Cando representative as situations require; communicate with all stakeholders as required

Support and Administration
- Support the identification, development, execution or implementation phases of new and existing business opportunities working collaboratively across functions with the Business Development and Operations teams.
- Must have the ability to travel away from home periodically to assist in the development and implementation of new business opportunities, including US locations and at times for extended durations.
- Track all customer interactions and knowledge base
- Ability to build trust and maintain positive and respectful working relationships with team members and customers.

**Qualifications**

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Attention to detail when collecting and tracking data on contracts, clients, industries, and opportunities
- Ability to independently plan, organize, and prioritize workload leading to successful sales initiatives in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrate strong leadership qualities including communication, motivational support, teamwork, and customer service skills
- Working knowledge of the rail industry and key customer and class 1 stake holders is an asset.
- Advanced computer skills with ability to learn, implement, and share new processes and technologies
- Awareness of lean management principals and concepts
- Ability to travel to various locations throughout the Canada and the US

Education & Experience
- Experience working with new projects and customers in an industrial and/or rail environment
- Preferred experience working within a sales or business development role
- Preferred experience working within a rail operations environment or supporting role and with a supervisory or management history.
